Bigelow Green Tea Review

The Bigelow teas brand has become ubiquitous and can now be found almost everywhere. If you have never heard about the brand, then this Bigelow green tea review will give you an idea of what to expect from your first cup.

The Bigelow brand is well known, and many tea enthusiasts have used the company’s range of premium tea bags to create both smooth hot teas and refreshing iced teas. This particular Bigelow green tea brings the quintessential revitalizing effects of green tea; smooth, earthy, and 100% natural. Through a delicate process, Bigelow created this particular tea from the Camellia sinensis plant, ensuring a delicate, smooth taste and far lower caffeine content than black tea.

The Bigelow company

Bigelow’s history has all makings of a dedicated, meticulous, and passionate tea brand. The USA-based manufacturer began making its tea blends in 1945 when its founder, Ruth Campbell Bigelow, created the first tea in her own kitchen. Market reports indicate it’s among the top specialty tea companies in the United States.

Bigelow remains a 100% family-owned company to this day, determined to keep making some of the finest teas and tea concepts. Some of its tea blends contain as high as 20 different ingredients.

  • Made from carefully selected, hand-picked tea by the Bigelow family
  • Green tea
  • Gluten-free

Tasting Notes For Trying Bigelow Green Tea

One of the distinguishing things about Bigelow green tea is that it doesn’t quite have the bitter taste that most of the other green brands have. It's mild and flavorful and quite easy on the taste buds, particularly for those who don’t appreciate the taste of green tea. This also makes it perfect for your favorite additions like honey, sweeteners, or even mint to give it that extra subtleness.

Note that you can also make flavorful iced green tea. Just leave one or more tea bags in a water bottle overnight in the fridge, and presto! You can settle down to a very comforting drink at any time of the day and one that doesn't get too strong or bitter over time. We recommend a steep time of around 3-4 minutes.

Brewing Instructions for Bigelow Green Tea

Of course, this Bigelow green tea review isn't intended to suggest that there's only one way to prepare this healthy drink. That being said, Bigelow green tea doesn’t require much in terms of preparation. You can make a quick cup of tea for yourself in no time. Here are a few instructions you can use to make one quick cup of hot tea for yourself:

  1. Bring cold water to a boil and pour it over a tea bag in a cup
  2. Steep for 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Enjoy!

By the Pot:

  1. Place 4-5 tea bags in a teapot.
  2. Add a quart of boiling water.
  3. Steep for 5 minutes.
  4. Serve it as is or with sweeteners such as sugar or honey.

Iced Tea:

  1. Place 5-6 tea bags in a one-quart container.
  2. Pour 1 cup (around 8 fl oz) of boiling water over the tea bags;
  3. Steep for a minimum of10 minutes.
  4. Remove the tea bags, then add 3 cups (around 24 fl oz) of cold water.
  5. Serve with some ice.
  6. You can add your favorite sweeteners to taste

Bigelow Green Tea Review – Final Thoughts

Note that Bigelow green teas often come a little overwrapped and packed in a sealed, stay-fresh foil pack. While it might feel a little frustrating for some people to unwrap the package, you will appreciate the difference with, say, bulk tea. The packaging completely seals out moisture and air so you can get the full flavorful and fresh experience of green tea every single time you make yourself a cup.
