Kalahari Tea Review

If you are not a huge fan of hot tea and you are trying to cut down on caffeine consumption, then you will love Kalahari tea. But even if you are, Kalahari teas can provide a nice change of pace from the usual steep-in-hot-water teas. This Kalahari tea review will give you a hint of what you might expect from trying out your first cup.

Kalahari teas are made from a South African tree called Rooibos, which means “Red Tree” in Afrikaans. Rooibos, which is grown in the beautiful South African mountain of Cedarburg, is practically a bush. The carefully selected fine tips of the herb are then processed to produce a herbal, caffeine-free tea that is reddish-brown in color.

Tasting Notes For Kalahari Tea

Kalahari tea's sweet, subtle, and smooth taste makes it an olfactory delight. If you are a fan of naturally sweet tea you’ll immediately appreciate this tea, which comes with the bonus of a lovely aroma. You’ll want to have another cup almost immediately or even go through a whole box of teas in no time.

Varieties of Kalahari Teas

Kalahari teas come in a range of fun flavors to savor if you are the sort of person who likes to experience their tea in various ways. Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Kalahari tea review if we didn’t propose a few flavors you should try out:

1. Kalahari Reserve tea

First up is the Kalahari Reserve tea, which will give you a real sense of the visual flavor of the tea. It’s the basic Rooibos, the main ingredient of practically all Kalahari teas, and it will give you the basic taste since it isn’t paired with any other flavor

2. Kalahari Matcha Mint tea

Next up is the blend of matcha mint tea. It has a green tea flavor but with a rather mild taste overall. However, the mint flavor will come bursting out of the tea with every sip and become the dominant flavor from the first taste to the last drop of the cup. It’s richer than most mint tea blends, an attribute that probably comes from the roast cacao’s smokiness and overall depth.

3. Kalahari Tea Raspberry Truffle flavor

The raspberry flavor of Kalahari tea makes for a truly amazing afternoon drink, leaving you with a lingering taste of raspberry on your tongue as if you just gobbled up a raspberry truffle. Even if you add a bit of sweetener, sugar, or whole milk, the raspberry flavors still blend nicely with the roasted cacao.

4. Kalahari Zambezi Red Chai

Last but certainly not least, of the Kalahari tea flavors you should try out is the Zambezi Red Chai. Very few chai teas have depth and spiciness, but this blend is as close to perfection as it gets. The blend of Indian spices with the rooibos herb makes it an absolute olfactory delight when you want to stir up your mood or drift into a mellow state of inner bliss as you sip your cup of tea.
